  • new beginnings

We have finally settled into our new apartment...well settled isn't exactly the right word for it...dumped all our boxes all throughout it is more descript.  I must say it is very nice to have an address.  We just bought a washer/dryer so that is going to be a huge blessing.  If you would like our new address please, message me or e-mail me.  I will hopefully send out an e-mail soon.

Check out our new blog at schroeder0701@blogspot.com hopefully we will update semi-regularlly...I make no guarentees.

    Keep in touch!

  • Moving...

I realized that I have completely neglected Xanga...I check everyday, but never post...I'm  sorry.   I've become addicted to Facebook.

It is time for an update though...lots of happenings in the Schroeder household...

First...Stephie graduated from college and got a job in Dayton.  She got to stay with us for a few weeks while she looked for an apartment.  I loved having my sister here!   Now she is all grown up and at her new apartment.

Second...I graduated from Wright State with my Master's in Reading...it is such a great feeling to be done!

Third...We are moving this Saturday!!!  It's a little fast so we don't have an apartment yet, so it's our turn to stay with family.  On Saturday we are going to move our things to Milwaukee, WI (the final destination), then we will apartment hunt, once we have a place we will be staying with Eric's parents until later in July.

Temporarily we will be without an address, but when we get one I'll let you all know!

So major adjustments for us...but they are exciting at the same time!  Pray for us!  We need it!

  • Happy New Year

As always life has been busy!   The trip to Alabama was great.  It was good to catch up with Eric's family and we enjoyed driving south.  We even stopped at Mammoth Caves for a brief stop on our way home.  That was nice.
Work in Middletown is going well...I enjoy working with the variety of grade levels and students.  I start my winter quarter classes next week.

For the holidays we were busy traveling between PA and MI.  We spent the weekend before Christmas at my family's.  It was great to see Tim's acting debut in the church play!   We were also able to celebrate my mom's birthday while we were there.  We spent Christmas at home in Ohio.  Then we went to Grand Rapids for New Years.  After arriving home both Eric and I had to go back to work...that wasn't so fun.

Today, I have begun to unbury us from our trips.  All of our Christmas decorations are down.  We also bought a set of new lamps from Bed, Bath, and Beyond with some of our gift money.

We also got a great deal on a rocker/glider at Good-will!  Yeah for $25 furniture.

Ours looks like this only without the ottoman and the cushions.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

    I'm horrible...

I check Xanga everyday to see what everyone is up to yet, I never update.  I apologize for my horrible lack of news.  Eric and I have been very busy between master's classes, teaching, and becoming more involved in church.  Now of which I would change.  I just wanted to share how good God is.  After one of my classes I was talking to one of my classmates about keeping me up to date on possible job opportunities at her school.  The next week she came up to me and said that one of their Reading First tutors had just quit and they had an opening.  She gave them my name and number and they called on Monday and set up an interview for today.  I got the job!!!  It's a perfect fit for me...small group reading instruction....and part time so I can keep up with my master's work.   God is good all the time!

Eric and I will be going to Alabama for his cousin's wedding.  I've never been to Alabama....should be fun!!!!

    No, I'm not dead...

This has been a crazy summer.  Eric and I have been busy, busy, busy.  There was one stretch of time when we were gone every weekend for a month.  I took four master's classes at Wright State, three are done and one will be done by the end of the month.  This school year I am not returning to the school I taught at last year, but will be taking classes and helping Eric at the mission.  I'm not quite sure what to do with myself since I'm not getting my classroom ready, but I'm excited to see what God is going to do this year.

Earlier this summer, Eric's sister, Amy got married and both of us were in the wedding.  It was so much fun to share in their joy.

We've also taken up a bit of gardening.  I know it's interesting in the city, but we are enjoying the outlet.  We should have tomatoes soon, the brocoli got infested so we won't have any of that, but we may get some carrots and peas.

Eric is still runnig the school program at the mission and we are looking forward to a new year.  It will be different as every year in a young program is, but each year gets better than the year before. Eric is also teaching a remedial math course at Wilberforce University.

So between our classes and the school program...we are busy.  Keep us in your prayers as we work together.  Love you all.
